Planning

The project is structured on the platform: objectives, planned deliverables, participants and what each of them can see and do. Permissions are defined per partner rather than per document, which avoids the classic situation where a file circulates by email and no one knows who had access to it anymore.

Agreement

Contracts, annexes and intellectual property rules are recorded alongside the project. From then on, the agreement stops being a filed document and becomes the living reference for what was agreed: every deliverable and every participation points back to a clause that exists and is accessible.

Management and updates

The work happens and the platform keeps up: deliverables submitted, contributions attributed, payments and milestones recorded. When the scope changes, and it almost always does, the change is versioned instead of overwriting the previous agreement. The history stays intact and searchable.

Traceability and closeout

At closeout, the report doesn’t need to be rebuilt — it already exists. Who contributed what, when, under which version of the agreement and with what evidence: all of it has been recorded since day one. That is the difference between assembling the report and simply pulling it.

The role of blockchain

Blockchain here is not a marketing label: it is what makes trust verifiable.

Each project record receives a cryptographic fingerprint, a unique code calculated from the content. If the content changes, even by a single character, the fingerprint changes. Recording that fingerprint immutably means that no one, not even Lotik, can alter the history after the fact.

In practice, this delivers three things: proof of authorship that depends on no one’s word, protection of intellectual property without exposing the content, and an audit source that funders and partners can rely on.

What is recorded and what stays private

The content of your documents does not go into the immutable record, and does not become public. What is recorded is only the cryptographic fingerprint: a string of characters that cannot be used to reconstruct the original document, but that proves unequivocally that the document existed in that state at that moment.

Files remain within the platform environment, under the permissions the partners defined. Sharing the proof does not require sharing the content, and that separation is precisely what makes it possible to collaborate with parties you barely know, or with those who are also competitors.

Third-party verification

An auditor, a funder or a partner’s legal team can check a record without depending on Lotik to do it. All they need is the document and the record reference: the cryptographic fingerprint is recalculated and compared with the one that was recorded. If they match, the document is the same and the recorded date holds.

How long does implementation take?

It depends on the number of partners and the volume of agreements already in force. The initial conversation is there to size that up.

Can we bring in projects already under way?

Yes. Existing agreements and deliverables can be recorded from the moment you join, and the earlier history is preserved as an attachment, without retroactive proof of date.

What happens to our data if we end the contract?

The data is yours. The platform provides export in an open format, and the proofs of record remain independently verifiable.

What if Lotik stops operating?

Proofs of authorship do not depend on the company’s existence to be verified. That is a property of the model, not a commercial promise.
